Privacy policy

Eleza is built with privacy as its starting point. This page explains how the app handles data.

No accounts

You don’t need an account to use Eleza. We don’t ask for a name, email address or phone number to use the app.

Data stays on your device

All boards, symbols, photos, voice recordings, profiles and settings are stored locally on your device. Eleza does not send this data to our servers or to third parties.

No tracking or ads

Eleza contains no ad networks or trackers and never sends data anywhere; the app requests no internet access, so Android allows it no connection at all. The optional Growth feature can, only if you turn it on per profile, keep track on your own device of which words and sentences your child uses; that data stays on the device, is never transmitted, expires automatically (sentences after 8 weeks, details after 12 months), and can be paused or erased at any time.

Works offline

The app does not need an internet connection to function.

Waitlist email

If you leave your email address on this website to stay informed, we use it solely to tell you about Eleza’s launch, on the basis of your consent. This is the only piece of data this website stores about you.

Your email is held by our processor Cloudflare, on servers in Western Europe (EEA), under a data processing agreement. We keep it until we’ve told you about the launch and at most twelve months after you sign up; after that we delete it.

Error reports

When something goes wrong in the app, Eleza writes the technical reason to a log on your own device. It stays there. The app never sends it on its own; the app has no internet access at all.

If you choose to send it, Eleza opens this website with the report in it, shows it to you first, and submits it only when you tap send. We store the report nowhere on this website: it is forwarded to Eleza’s developer and kept nowhere else. If you fill in an email address, we use it only to ask you a follow-up question.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and you can withdraw your consent or unsubscribe at any time. Contact us at [email protected] to do so. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
